Outreach
The LVH MedEvac Pre-Hospital Safety Orientation Program is a fundamental tool used to increase awareness among the Fire, Police
and EMS agencies that utilize on-scene response of the MedEvac helicopters. Discussed within this program is the history
of air medical evacuation, principles of trauma triage and when to request LVH MedEvac. The process of setting up an appropriate
landing zone (LZ), interaction between ground and flight personnel, and the follow-up of patient care is also discussed.
Within the Eastern Pennsylvania EMS Region, each participant is awarded continuing education credits, along with a LVH
MedEvac Safety uniform patch.
